BIO

Lauren Gier is an instructor, choreographer, and performer from Austin, Texas. She started studio training at the age of four at Alisa’s Dance Academy and was a member of Austin’s Dance Elite company for 10 years. During high school, she became a member of the Westlake High School Hyline Dance Team where she served as 1st Lieutenant her senior year. Lauren’s passion for drill team continued in her college experience as a World-Famous Kilgore College Rangerette.  As a Rangerette, Lauren was a featured soloist in various Rangerette performances, including Rangerette Revels, and was a member of the select Swingster performance group. She later continued her college journey at Austin Community College where she earned her Associates of Fine Arts, and Texas State University for her B.F.A. specialized in Dance Education with Teacher Certification in Fine Arts/Dance.

 

Throughout her years of performing, Lauren has traveled to various places such as Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the 2013 Texas Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C., the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, the Cotton Bowl at Cowboys’ Stadium and Crystal Charity Ball in Dallas, and Tracie Stanfield’s SynthesisDance intensive program in New York.

 

Ms. Gier has worked at Alisa’s Dance Academy for the past eight years where she teaches ages ranging from 2-18. Her specialties included various styles of dance including Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Ballet, Combo, and Technique/ Wellness. She serves as a Senior Instructor where her choreography has been included in not only recital pieces but also group competition pieces, solos, duos/ trios throughout her time there.

 

Lauren also works for MA Dance Nation where she judges competitions, consults, and teaches private camps to drill teams and studios across Texas. In the past Lauren has worked as a substitute/ freelance consultant for Austin high school dance teams including Westlake, Lake Travis, and Westwood high school for preparation during football and contest seasons. She has had choreography featured by Austin’s Dance Elite, Momentum Dance Company, Westlake High School, Texas State Choreographer’s Showcase, Alisa’s Dance Academy, and Dance Connections.

 

Lauren has always had a passion for dance and performing which she loves sharing with her students, local community, and across the state of Texas. Her mission is to bring the education of dance to students of all levels and ages in order to find a creative and active outlet.
